Sylvain "Slinky" Girard

Sylvain "Slinky" Girard is A Buyer's Choice Home Inspections franchisee in the Sea to Sky corridor and he also covers the entire north shore of Vancouver and the lower Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Sylvain is a BC Licensed Home Inspector and remains an associate member in good standing with the Canadian National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (CANachi). He received his certification after extensive study from the Carson Dunlop Training Institute; the most comprehensive home inspector training system in North America. He is currently licensed under the British Columbia Business Practices and Consumer Protection Branch; BC License #55977.

Sylvain Girard, originally from Montreal, Quebec, has been a Whistler resident since attending the mogul summer ski camp of 1992. When arriving to Whistler “Slinky”, as he’s better known, first worked in the hospitality industry, cooking, bartending and then onto managing. He then decided to pursue a career in and construction industry and over the past ten years, Sylvain has gained enough experience to become a self-employed contractor. He has worked in numerous sectors from building foundations, to framing and high quality finishing, including residential and commercial renovations.

Sylvain also enjoyed being part of the Whistler Fire and Rescue Service Team where he served as a paid-on-call Lieutenant at Spring Creek Fire Hall #3 for 8 years. On designated weekends, he also enjoyed giving back to the community by way of participation in fundraisers or training for the Whistler Auto Extrication Team, where he held the position of Medic. He recently retired to pursue other goals

Sylvain’s next career goal is to operate the most successful home inspection business on the Sea to Sky corridor and the Sunshine Coast. Becoming part of “A Buyer’s Choice” team seemed like a natural fit. Having the background and knowledge in the construction industry will allow him to assist realtors, comfort the client and protect their investment. Sylvain and his team look forward to the opportunity to serve Horseshoe Bay, the entire north shore of Vancouver, the Sea to Sky corridor and the Sunshine Coast in their home inspection needs.

His Ideal vacation involves sports, friends, family, great food and fantastic wine. It’s no wonder he fell in love with Whistler and its surroundings..
